Taylor was unable to figure out Maletta in the second moto and just barely held on to second overall as Yamaha-mounted Cory Falter was pressing at· the checkered flag. Moving to the motorcycle classes. the "Kool Kup Kawasaki Kid" Charlie Harries, took the 125cc Stock Experts in a two for two rideout over Honda mounted Billy Evans and then took a come from behind tie·breaker over Evans in the Modifieds. The big 125cc show. however. was the Intermediates where the Haw~ Racinl{ Suzuki rider Jim Pearson took the Modified off a 2-1 effort over Bobby Vrhel (I-g). Pearson then came back for a wild 4-1 tie- breaker win in the Stocks over Mark Scott's 2·g as Mitch Palmer dropped to third with a 1-5 effort. The big show in the l:25cc Novices was the Stock. class where Mike Shepardson (Suz) was back in the saddle again with a 1-2 win over the gg of Ron Maletta (Kaw). who had a tie-breaker over Keegan Mc Grath.
