Sun played it cool and rode it hot as he captured the Bel-Ray 500 cc United States Grand Prix at Carlsbad on his Honda Works Pro-Link. In the first moto, Sun turned in a smooth, smart performance and placed fifth. And in the second moto, he blazed to an easy first for the overall win. In fact, the only real threats Sun had to contend with were his own teammates. Honda's Andre Malherbe placed second in moto 2, pushing his world-leading point total to 136.
