This takes the centerline of the braking contact area and moves it farther to the outside of the disc rotor, where it has more leverage. All three discs (two front, one rear) have these twin calipen. What they mean is smooth, powerful braking that brings forward motion to a quick halt with no lOIS of control and minimum lever pressure. Feedback through the controb is good, and we never had problems with wheel lock-up. Tires on our machine were V-rated tubeless Bndgestones, a 5.50 x 1.9 front and a 4.25 x 18 rear. They worked wen during our test with good hold and compatibility with freeway rain grooves. lit6 ., . Honda has provided for rider comfort with a new, softer seat. It's exceedingly comfortable, and you can ride for long periods of time without po8terior diItreIa. Ban were also comfonable; fairly low for &oocI1pOrU poIi- tion riding, but wider than those used on European market 900s. The grips are black rubber. Ditto your hands if you ride without gloves. Maybe _'re spoiled, but we still prefer a one-piece locking gas cap to Honda'~ two-piece unit. Speaking of the need to put gas in, we averaged about 40 mpg in most types of riding; less in pure city use. Gas capacity is 5.5 ganons, including reserve. Honda says anything 86 octane or above is OK. Our 900 attracted a lot of attention wherever we went. "That sure looks fast. Bet it is, right?" would be a typical comment. Our model was the black venion. They also come in silver. The engine is a racy black, as are the aluminum ComStar wheels. There you have it. A strong running, good handling motorcycle. Good for play., daily transportation, and civilized enough for long distance work. A bike for alllleuona.
