Gary Harris, rid· ing a 250 Husky, won the combined Intennediate and Pro race. The Novice and Beginner race took off first and saw Rick Scaramella grab an early but short lead, as Chuck Rouse got by on the first lap. Randy Pearlman and Laird soon passed the early leaders on the Carlsbad downhill. iLaird finished with a comfortable lead in fint. Pearlman had slowed, allowing Rouse and Bill McIntre tC'l finish ahead of him. , The second time out the bigger bikes again got the holeshot. Laird and Pearlman proved to be much faster in the comers on their 125s, and soon were in front. Laird, riding beautifully, had almost half a lap lead at the finish. Rouse, on a 250 Husk}l out-powered Pearlman on the uphill with only a few laps left to finish lsecond. As the Intennediates and Pros came out, Gary Harris and Ray Tethenon (Suz) , were out front and soon far from everyone. Tetherton found his way by Harris and had a very nice 'lead. By the halfway point Tethenon had slowed with a rear flat and would finish last. Harris got the win, Charlie. Har:ries finished second, putting in a good ride, with Jerry Corley third. In the second moto Tethenon had the flat fixed and again passed Harris for the lead in the opening laps. Charlie Harries (125 Kaw) passed both 'Scott Boyer and Corley in the air for third. Tethenon finished with over !l0 seconds on Harris and Harries. . Harri4 got the overall win with Tethenon second. Results1. _ .125 NOV: leird CSuzI; 2. Rendy _ lSuzl; 3. S _ z.DllSuzl. 2IiO NOV: 1.
