At Elkhart Lake's Road America,
Eddie Lawson turned Kawasaki's streetproven Belt Drive into a race-proven
winner, completely devastating the
lightwe!ght GP field
with his KR250. Then
he backed up the win
by t~g Round 3 of
the AMA Superbike
Championship aboard
his stock-framed KZ1000.
For Eddie, the "",~"1IIIIi
current two-time~W
lightweight Champion, the wins stretched his lead to a comfortable 13 points
over second place, and gave him a great shot at the 1981 Superbike Title.
For Steve Johnson, the man behind Eddie's KR250, being in the winner's
circle with the world's first Belt Drive race bike was ample reward for marathon
wrench sessions and all-night drives between tracks.
Rob M~ who puts the fire in Eddie's Superbike, had to feel more than a
little proud as he watched his eight-valve KZ1000 turn in a winning performance.
. Especially when th~ 16-valvers w.ere falling by the Wisco~in wayside.

your mouth is.
