Ayers' bar clipped Light's arm which sent the central Oregon number one 125/250cc rider sprawling to the desert sand. Both Ayers and Holbrook ran into Light, one running over Light's recently injured arm. and all three were down. When the dust cleared. Ayers had remounted quiclr.ly enough. and by the time the other bikes were untangled, nad built up a substantial lead which took him comfortably to the flag followed by Holbrook. Light and Open winner Norris. The second time out into the dust, Light again held the lead with another super holeshot, Norris, Holbrook and Ayers all staying within a bike's length. Light slid out in the deep, loamy desert sand. though, letting the others by. Holbrook was now floating away on his Floater while Ayers and Norris held off Light's attempts to get by. Holbrook had a convincing lead for the second moto win as Light got by Ayers and Norris for second. Moto three (Pros elected to go threel) 'had Holbrook on the outside and Light inside for holeshot honors. Holbrook held on longest for the lead with Ayers and Norris scrapping it out for third. The dust was getting so thick, even after a lengthy watering session, that at one point, Light didn't notice Ayers slip by in the juniper treelined section. Holbrook hauled to the win and overall with his 2-1-1 over Ayers' 1-3-2 and Light's 3-2-3. Taking the Open Pro section was Norris with his 4-5-4 on his 430. Results v_ MINt MINI: 1.
