Ilay JohmtoD and R.oben Lee took second and third on Binningham Small Arms equipment. Michael Colliaa (BSA) won theJunior main event, and William Jeffenon (BuI) bested the Novice feature. Between other commitments and rain, KeaDy Ilobera had yet to ride in a main event of the continuing AMA sbon track series in Sacramento, CA. Whe he finally rode. the Junior. ranked rider led wire to wire and de· . feared Expens Jim Ilice, Jim Odom and Did ManD. It was a Kawasaki sweep of the first four places in the Open GP class of an ACA road race at Riverside Raceway. Many Lunde led briefly but at the fmish it was Stne McLaughlin in the lead ahead of Lunde. Lunde also rode the 250cc GP class, where he placed second behind Howard Lyngganl. The rafters of the Will Ragen Coliseum in Ft. Wonh, TX, shook to the sounds of short track racing inside the facility. ·Seventeen·year.old Mike Kidd won the Trophy Dash, bested Jon Minomo and Guy McClure in the 200cc race, and beat Barry Patrick and Minomo in the 250cc class. Ron McKenzie won the Open class. Bryan Kenny's dog Snowflake reponed on three international motocrosses ridden by her master in Europe. Two were won by Englishman Dave Nicoll and one by German Wolfgaug MaUer. Kenney racked up an eighth and a sixth in two of the races, plus a DNF with three flat tires ir. three motos at a rocky French track. A COIltrolleDy 5UIT'OUDding Corona Race· way in Corona. CA. took a turn for the better as far as the track ownen and motorcyclists were concerned. The Raceway, which had been shut down by the Riverside County District Attorney. received a vote of suppan from the Corona City Council. A pair of two·class sweeps were turned in at a D-S7 motocl'Oll at Bay Mare cycle Park. BuItaco-mounted KeaDy Zahn rode to four moto wins while tak· ing the 125 and 250cc Novice classes. Doug Grant did likewise with an AJS and a Suzuki, capturing the 250 and 500cc Expen divisions. Emil Ahola won the Expen main event in an AMA Pro IT at Graham, W A.
