It's tough out there on the quarter-mile straight. New
records take brute horsepower. And steel-tough reliability.
The competition will psyche you. The Christmas tree will
taunt you. Yet straight off the trailer at the Gulfport IDBA
season opener. Mike Keyte clocked a blistering 8.80 e. t. to
set a new IDBA Pro-Stock record on his KZlOOO. And Sid
Pogue zipped straight into the record books by clocking
151.51 mph on a GPzllOO to smash the old top speed mark.
In addition Kawasaki won Top Fuel with Eo O'Brochta,
Funny Bike with Terry Kizer and Pro Camp with Geoff
MasterS. A whole slew of sportsman winners also rode
Kawasakis. It was quite a shovv.
The same power and reliability that breaks records in
high-stress drag racing has been engineered into all
Kawasaki street bikes. So has simplicity, lightness and
performance-the touchstones of Kawasaki engineering
philosophy. If you missed the show at Gulfport, see the show
at your local Kawasaki dealer. It stars 17 street models and
the straightest deals in town.
