Fogel flies at Golden Eagle Enduro By Boyd Bass STILLWATER, OK, APR. 12 42 dco-COlol'.do-.yo. . . .-1 Round two of the Black. Jack. Enduro Circuit saw AA rider David Fogel blast his Yamaha 250 around a very tight course drop' ping 20 points to take tbe overall at the Seventb Annual Golden Eagle Enduro. His closest competitor was Rusty Reynard witb 27 points. Today's circuit featured two identi· cal loops 45 miles in length. The C class would only run one loop with C. Walker dropping 26 points for the low score in tbat class. A warm day with temperatures in the 80s saw many rid· ers fading on the second loop. Adding to this was very little time at the rcscts on the second loop compared to the first. Most had problems staying on tbe 24 mph average. One of the closer races was in the 250cc A class. Roger Stone took the win by two points from Steve Beitler who has just moved into this class and was. riding a Husqvama for Ajax Mo· torcycle Sales. Also riding a Husky from Ajax was McAlester's Bruce Raybon. Raybon took fint 250cc B with a score of 41. Most everyone enjoyed the coune; ScOlt Ripley and Chuck Cooper of Stillwater should be thanked for putting together this evcot which over 500 rid· ers signed up for. The BJEC is very popular with riden from Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri traveling to Oklaboma for circuit points. There are 13 events in this year's BJEC and a rider's top six scores are taken. All finishers received a ticket for the drawing and had to be prescnt to win. The winner, Mr. Dave Lindsey, rode it off into tbe sUlIICt. Fuller, on his R I: R Service 465 Yamaha, sat down for an easy ride to let Kevin Jones and Kevin Bogue, both on 250 Yamahas from R I: R Service, fight it out for second and third. Bryan Hunt (465 Yam) worked his way through the pack just to get a look at the trio. Jones dropped from the race witb engine trouble. Hunt moved by Bogue to talte second, and from out of nowhere a wild and crazy Doug Bcrhans (450 Hus) moved up to ovenake Bogue and Hunt until his motocross gas tank ran dry. Fuller went in to the ftnUb with several minutes on Hunt and Bogue. In the 125cc Expen race, Joel Rucker (Suz) ran away from all the small bores to take sixth overall, and "-Mr. Tough Guy" Laddie King (465 Yam) topped the "old mco's" class. Results 125 EX: 1.
