dust in the hills and cool weather.
The Minis came onto the course
with the motocross section slick and
hard, dust in the hills and warm
weather.
Two close friends, Keith Senn riding
for Bellflower Yamaha and Shannon
Shamblin riding for Dale's Modem
Cycle, were almost side by side on the
first lap with Senn having the edge. As
the laps went by Senn had increased
his lead to a full two minutes and
Shamblin was settling into a comfortable second. On the seVenth of the
eight laps Senn developed a rear flat
tire but still maintained the lead. On
the last lap Senn's rim lock broke and
he could not force his 80cc machine up
the last big hill. It was Shamblin who
took the checkered.
,
Special mention goes to Mike Hallahan, Jr. who rode this entire race with
no rear brake and thanks to Lynn
McGraw who rode two races back to
back and then redressed to sweep for
the Minis.

TUCSON, AZ, APR. f>
United M/C Supply rider Rick
Watmore came to Saguaro Race·
way and stomped the competi·
tion into the ground.
Moto one of the Pros saw Kenny
Schlosser (Kaw) pull the holeshot fol·
lowed by Watmore (Yam) and Roger
McCluskey (Yam). Schlosser pulled off
with bike problems as Watmore,
McCluskey and Brent Hanna (Mai),
took over the top three. McCluskey
passed Watmore, but Watmore jammed
back to the front running position
while Tibbs McCullough (Yam) and
Mike Garratt (Yam) took over second
and third when McCluskey crashed his
way out. The moto ended with that
order.
Garratt went to the head of the pack
in moto two as McCullough and Watmore dropped into second and third.
McCullough fell, allowing Watmore
into second and Jay Perkins (Suz) into
third. Watmore held off Perkins for
second as Garratt took the win. Overall it was Watmore, Garratt and Mc
Cullough.
