Rumors have been flying about Harley-Davidson.
to put them finally to rest.

It is true the ownership of Harley-Davidson is changing ...
but back into our hands, not anywhere else.
A group of investors, under the leadership of Vaughn L.
Beals, Jr. current AMF Corporate Vice President and
Motorcycle Products Group Executive; Charles Thompson,
Harley-Davidson President; myself, and a number of company officers are in the process of buying the company and
all its assets from AMF. Obviously, control of the company
will be in the hands of know ledgeable people who have
many years of motorcycle business experience behind them.

The sale is for all of the Harley-Davidson manufacturing·
facilities in Wisconsin and York, P A, and includes our
motorcycle, parts and accessories, and golf car divisions.
Of course, the sale is subject to further discussions and
execution of a definitive agreement by our new group and
AMF .
This is a very important step for all of us, including you,
our customer. The Harley-Davidson Motor Co. is renewing
its commitment to provide you with quality products designed and built by Americans ... for Americans.
