In the Muten dmsion Blackie Lewia began the action with his lead in moto one which be beId for three laps. Bob Millner pused Blackie coming out of the lltadium jump and took command for two laps. Marvin Olaon then took the lead on lap five and CODtinued on with it to the fmiah. Muvin really did a lot of fast moving to get where he did, as he initiaDr. staned out way back in last place. Millner was in with second place and Tom Widick took third. Ezpen Dick Moaley, our president, .was. ~Y. ~~' .~~ .~~ __ the holeshot in both motOl in addition to taking both wins. Dick Frampton reaUy overcame his poor starting position with some terrific riding and ran away with second both times. Bob Crandall took third in moto one and Don Merritt captured the third place win in mota two. Amateur Bob De Miranda had things going his way in moto one. He wrapped up the big win without letting another Amateur get close. Bob won first again in moto two, even with his 11th out of 11 stan. It's hard for that guy to lose. Hal Grady took hoth second place wins. Dennis Hezden was the lucky third place winner in moto one and Gene Powell captured founh. The second moto's third place winner was John Said, and founh place went to Dennis Hezden. Novice Tony Cappironi led the action in laps I-~, and then it was W.F. Harltey out there with the lead and on to the win. Bob Alloy took second and Howard Zimmerman came in with third. The second moto began with Everett Hatler in the lead. It was on lap four that AUoy slipped into the lead and then won the moto. Hatler came in with second and Cappironi cl'Ollled ewer in third. R....1ts 1. _ Iii\ASlBlS: Oloon lVoml; 2. _ _ on his heels. With the win in sight a lapped rider moved in front of Turner and forced him to the outside while Johnson slipped by for the win. JIDl Tarantino put his DC Performance Honda into the number three spot at the flag and Yamaha rider Stephen GaD picked up founh. "I guess 111 just have to go out and win this one," said a determined Turner as he headed for the staning line and the second moto battle. As expected the race soon became a two rider duel with Turner controUing the action and crolIIIing the finish line first_ Johnson held on to the I'l1tlDeI'-Up slot and went home with second place money. GaD and Tarantino battled for the mOlt of the second round with Gall getting the nod at the checkers and the pay window_ Husky rider Clark Jones outpointed TNT Maico rider Ed Arnet for top money in the Open Pro class. Jones piloted his Standard Crank-sponsored mount to the win in race one while Arnet and Premier Yamaha rider Pete Snoneland battled for the number two benh. Arnet settled for third at the fmiah as Snoneland stayed calm aDd offered no opportunity for Amet to pass. Amet was on the gas from the start of moto two and soon established himself as the leader.
