Harlingen Motocrosa Association. The Mini Senior and l00cc cla.ues were dominated by Darin Williams of Robstown. Jackie Homer of Pharr had to settle for second this month. As always the Over !I0/Enduro class provided lots of thrills and spills, but Jake Warren from Corpus Christi aboard a brand new water-cooled Suzuki was first. In the 250/0pen Novice class, Alben Alaniz of McAllen watched first place slip away as he went down a few feet from the checkered flag allowing Billy Bruton of Harlingen to get by after a see-saw battle through the entire race. Rodney Danner of Combes took fIrSt overall in the 250cc Expen class. Larry Hughes of Brownsville had to settle for second. After a bad fall in the first moto, he was able to come back and win the second moto. One of the more interesting races of the day was the combined 125cc Inter· mediate/Expen race. Jamie Killion of Kingsville took the Expen class although Floyd Robbins kept the pressure on. The Intermediate class staned out close, but a freak accident changed that. As Walter Bode and Joel Stone were fighting for position. Stone's foot became wedged between the wheel and swingann of Bode's bike. Fonunately, Stone was not injured, but it took most of the race to dismantle Bode's bike to free Stone's foot. It just wasn't Bode's day as he went out in the second moto with mechanical rroblems. Meanwhile, Leslie Elsik 0 Kingsville was able to take first from Royce Danner of Combes. Frank Man III of Harlingen took first in the 125cc Novice class followed by Lee Uribe of Brownsville. Races are held every third Sunday at Arroyo Motocross Park, but the March race is rescheduled for March 29, due to the GNC Supercerosa in Houston. Also. hare scrambles will be held at Arroyo MX Park on March 22. Results MINt 1. _ ~ 2.BobbyS-d. MINI SA: 1. Dorin w-..; 2. JecIdII _ ; 3. ~ZIpa. 100: 1. Dorin w-..: 2. JecIdII _ ; 3.
