win, but his bike broke on the third loop, ending his chances. Jon Miller rode the UEA D-37 Tuff E'Nuff Enduro as a B rider, but got moved to "A" and Husky gave him a bike to ride. Jon lost just eight points and was another rider to throw away the overall win by burning a check. Welcome to the club Jon. Dick thanks you too. Other notable rides include Mike Godfrey on a CR·125 Honda winning the 200cc A clUlI. Mike had the little Honda singing as he outrode the b~ hies in his class. The Palenske brother CXlDtinued their winning ways with wins. Grant took the Open A class on his DMG Maico·sponaored Maico, losing just ~ points for third overall, while Gamer won the 250cc A class dropping 13 points. The Senior A win went to Ron Fry (Yam) edging out JesR Goldhen (KTM). Jesse was ftrst Super Senior. First B overall and an automatic transfer to A looks to be Chip Howell who lost 14 points in a very good ride. The 200cc B class winner, Joe Bonello, almost took the overall B honors also, droppinX 14 points, but Chip was faster in the tie·breaking sections. A rider who will he showing up on results is 200cc B rider Kun Butler who was just two points down on his Suzuki PE175 after two loops. Unfonunately Kun landed on a rather delicate pan of his anatomy in the third loop, hard enough to make him throw up. Kun finished third in class and could have just as easily won. The C riders only had to go one loop and Team Bedouin's Jeff Brake (Wheelsmith C-A) took overall honors, dropping four points. This was probably Jeffs last ride as a C so he will have to get in shape to go more loops now. Other C winners were: Paul Smith (Open), Bob Viers (25Occ). Glenn Larson (200cc). Bob Fur (fourstoke) and John Humpries (Senior). First woman was Candy Hand losing 19 points. Marking was sporadic. The yellow ribbon was hard to see and many arrows were inconsistently placed. Some were ahead of the tum while many were right at the tum or danger. In addition, ISDE circle markers were used somewhat. but many riders didn't understand what they meant (they were straight ahead markers) and mis· took them for danger. All in all it was a good national enduro and Dick Burleson is hoping it will be an omen for yet another title. • Eight is Enough? P.S.: Many thanks to the two lovely ladies who opened signup for me Sat. night so I could get my score card. ResultsDick _ O\IEIIAU.; YAMAHA PARTS DISTRIBUTORS, INC. 655S KATELLA AVENUE· CYPRESS.
