shall Creek's layout was changed in
order to slow the action down a bit
with larger jumps being added.
However.
the riders put their
suspension to work with aerial antics
that had the spectators witnessing
spectacular racing from Mini to
Mighty, In the hotly contested Pro
classes. Chuck Dawson. Craig Riddle
and Kirk Spencer bumped, bounced
and boogied their way to overall wins
in their respective classes.
Outstanding performances were not
limited to the Expert classes and lOOcc
class action was fantastic in each
round. Brent "Stud Duck" Carrizales
(Yam) and Skipper Beavers (Suz)
provided only a portion of the thrills
in the two action· filled motos as they
flew off the many re·formed jumps.
Carrizales piloted his WRW Big "D"
Yamaha to victory as Beavers fmished
brilliantly in second on his Pete's
Suzuki in each round.
The 125cc Pros tested their skills
next and Chuck "The Hulk" Dawson
(Yam) was up to the test as he sped to
consecutive victories in the talentfilled event. Round one had "The
Hulk" out front from the drop of the
gate on his WRW Big "0" Yamaha.
Moving up to challenge and eventually
take over the lead was Carter's Mark
"Peaches" Rakestraw who led until
one of many turf tests he would make.
With
"Peaches"
having
his
problems, "The Hulk" moved up to
take the win as "Okie" Tony Lucente
(Yam)
advanced
to
second.
"Hollywood" Coel Knight putting his
Arlington Yamaha in third as
teammate Ron Kunz finished fourth.
Round two was a carbon copy of
round one, only Rakestraw took a
spectacular endo while leading which
left quick and consistent Dawson to
ditto his round one performance with
Lucente in second. Kni~ht third, Bob
Sanford fourth and Ricky "Racer"
Riccardi (Yam) fifth. Overall it was
Dawson. Lucente. Knight. Kunz and
Riccardi.
The 250cc Pro class was a one·
man show as Craig Riddle (Kaw)
blitzed the field for consecutive wins.
Riddle was very quick as he took the
win despite a second round soil
sample. Riddle took his Town &<
Country Kawasaki to victory with Big
"D's" Kirk Dillon (Yam) recovering for
second ahead of Qennis "Skylab"
Hawthorne (C·A). Finishing fourth in
the overall column with a brilliant
comeback ride was "Gasi,n' Glen"
Goodier (Hon) who rode his D &< S
Cycles "red rocket" to third in round
two.
Final race of the day was an exciting
one as Kirk "The Kid" Spencer piloted
his Carter's Yamaha to victory in each
action·filled moto. Spencer was really
on the gas as he dusted the troops with
teammate
"Peaches"
Rakestraw
coming back in round two for second
after a race·long battle with Sean
"Trick Numbers" O'Brien, who was
third on another Carter's Yamaha.
Fourth overall was Maico's support
rider 0ll. K9Lb~,:if whoseu5,,? effort. ,
was enough to bold off yet another
Caner's rider, David Boles.
