singer had to struggle in moto one to
climb from a poor start and battle
with Honda rider Tony Gomez for the
number three slot.
Out front Clark Jones was keeping
his Pro Circuit Husky ahead of LOP
rider Mark Lawrence. Lawrence was
never able to pull within striking distance of the Husky pilot as Jones
picked his way through lapped riders
without hesitation. Jones was first to
reach the finish flag ahead of Lawrence,
Reisinger, Gomez and Yamaha rider
Dave Taylor.
Reisinger went for the lead early in
moto two with Lawrence again trailing
in the runn~r-up spot. Gomez bailed
off hard and Jones was hampered by a
slowly seizing motor. Reisinger held
off Lawrence's charges to take the win.

overall and Jones finished in the
money with a third.
Honda-mounted Gary Denton swept
the 125cc Pro race, easily taking the
overall win with victories in both motOil.
Yamaha rider Mike Beier stayed in the
hunt with a second place finish for the
first moto and then came back to take
third in moto two and clinch the
runner-up slot. Suzuki ace Bob Elliott
applied pressure on the leader in race
two but had to settle for third overall
with a 4-2 score.
Husky rider David Gerig worked his
Pro Circuit sponsored mount into the
winner's circle with a 2-1 score.
Yamaha rider Juan Benavidez topped
the first moto but failed to finish mota
two. leaving Gerig with clear sailing to
the checkers. Bill Hagen kept his
Yamaha within striking distance of the
leaders and picked up a 5-2 score for
the day and second overall in the pay·
off. Greg Zitterkopf finished third on a
Yamaha.
Suzuki rider Rudy Dickinson and
Kawasaki rider Bruce Bunch battled
head to head in the 80cc Pro class with
Bunch taking the advantage in race
one and Dickinson crossing the finish
line second. Moto two saw the tough
mini riders change pOilitions at the
checkers and the overall win went to
Dickinson. Bunch took second and
Kurt Hendrickson finished third on a
Yamaha.
