Cooley and Larry Roeseler and Mike Bell aftc:l all
the other motorcycle racing champs In the past
two years' Cycle News/West Rider of the Year
Contests.
Why? Well, for one thing, he's Louis McKey,
the Phantom Duck of the Desert. He's done
more for motorcyclists' land use rights here In
CalHornla than anyone else we know. He
deserved to win.
Desert riders, desert racers and trailriders
sent In their ballots by the dozens.
Where were the others? Who knows?
Possibly in the same place many motorcyclists
were during the recent state and federal
elections. Somewhere else other than in the
voting booth!
So vote. Be it in support of the two-time
CNROY Louis McKey or another champion of
your choice.
There's only one rule: Your vote must be for a
rider who lives in the circulation area of Cycle
News/West. The boundaries are the eastern
borders of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska,
South Dakota and North Dakota. Contest
closes with entries postmarked on, or before
Dec. 5. The winner will be announced in our big
year-end issue.
This is your only chance. This ba,llot will not
be reprinted. Fill it out, clip it out, and ship It in.
Simple. Why not do It right now?
