Running fourth was Clay Light (LOP/Gresham Suz/Suz) with Roy Davis (Yam) and Wayne Church (Yam) dose behind. At the flag, Lund had a dear, convincing lead over Davis, Wiant, Earle and Light. Moto two had Wiant pull the holeshot with Church, Light, Earle and Davis following. Church took Wiant for the lead with Light and teammate Earle going for third. Davis and Lund were behind Light and Earle. Davis snuck by Light as did Earle and eventually took Wiant, but Church was long gone. Lund rode far back for a while, but got a late "charge" going for fourth on his water-cooled Yamaha. Mark Esterberg (Yam) won the tough Open Intermediate race over Winston Rice, also on a Yamaha. Billy Boresek. (Kaw) of Eugene won Mini Intermediate with a 1-1 sweep over Brian Springer (Suz) who held on to second and second overall. The largest class was the 125cc Novice race. In moto one, Loren Erickson (Hon) took his one-two-fi"e to a large lead over Mark Slipp (Suz), Mike Burke (Suz) and Greg Bowers (Yam) to finish this order also. Moto two had Erickson again taking the lead with Slipp hot on his heels. Burke was there also and took advantage of a bobble by Slipp and a bail-off by Erickson for the overall. Results PEE wee: 1.
