The IOOcc Expert class was a repeat of the prior night's racing with Winkie Freitas an alone at the front over Kun Chandler and P.]. Sanchez while Mike Roehlk was the new winner in 80cc Novice over the John Taylor·toned Yamaha of young Teddy Taylor. Scott Martin got to bOTTow the spare bike out of Salinas Kawasaki/Suzuki over his own RM and handily WOD the 80cc Junior class over Bryan Taber. Ban Wilkins moved up a notch to win the 125cc Novice/Junior main over Kid Curry while Adam Sahedra won 250cc Novice on the Arena H·D over Aaron Hill's Suzuki. Dave Caballero reversed the 250cc Junior win scene on Chad Felicio taking a hotly disputed event on the WFO/Bud Manin-toned Yamaha. Teddy Davidson borrowed Keith Day's KX250 and easily outdistanced the troops of the 250cc Experts minus Doug Chandler who spent the night in the Salinas Valley Hospital after getting his leg set by an onhopedic ~n. Gary Johnson did a fine job for second over Dave B,oyles and David Walden, in for his first set of Black Plate points. Boyles has probably taken back the point lead and is a relative shoe-in for the top D-56 digit. Randy Glaze carne back to racing and won the 560cc Junior main on his Bultaco over John Carter's Honda. Rick Record returned for a nice 500cc Novice win on his Bultaco over Bart Wiley and Steve Nunes reversed the 500cc Junior main event on Marvin Lewis. Davidson, Key split Hills Ferry ST wins, Chandler injured By Bill Spencer NEWMAN, CA, AUG. 50 Despite a good crowd of both riders and spectators, and the usual good racing with fine wins by Mark Key and Ted Davidson, the racing ended on a sour note with the injury to Doug Chandler that will likely keep him off the circuit fOT six weeks with a broken leg. Winkie Freitas won the lOOcc Expert main, returning off the National tour with Kurt Chandler and P.J. Sanchez right behind in the first main event of the second day of Labor Day weekend racing. Ricky Gonzales really likes his new Kawasaki of Salinas KX80 and won handily over Shad Johnson in 80cc Novice. Tony Mitchell survived the best of the 80cc Juniors over a jublilam Tilmmy Carriger in second, both on Yamahas. The big payoff race for the Expen Minis is still SOcc Expert with lots of points and it was Chris CaTT on the Jorgy RM Suzuki out front for the distance with some new exhaust pipe work by dad Gerry CaTT that held oIf the hard charge of Kurt Chandler, Winkie Freitas on his new CRSO and Kelley FishceT on the Yamaha of Salinas special. Redding rider Tim Rahn tripped down for the proceedings and won the l25cc Novice show over Bart Wilkins with Frank Martin the l25cc Junior winner over Brian Pedro. Aaron Hill has recently joined the bike bike ranks and did a great job of winning 250cc Novice on a Suzuki over Jim Eden who lists home as Plattsburg AFB in upstate New York. With a new girl friend and a new bike, Chad Felicio was right in the
