In 1978, Kenny Roberts took up the challenge of the 500 C.c. World
Championship cin:uit. And won it his very first year out
In 1979, in spite of missing the first two races because of injuries,
Kenny took the crown again.
And now, just to prove the point, Kenny has taken the World Championship
for the third time.
No one else has.ever won the 500 C.c. World Championship three
times in a row on his first three attempts. Kenny's string of three championships in
_ just three attempts is unprecedented in the history of motorcycle racing.
What's more, Kenny is the only American
to ever win the Championship, even once.
Needless to say, Kenny won all three Championships on Goodyear motorcyle racing tires.
