In fact the Mini classes were packed with riders especial1y in the popular Junior races. Both John Davis and Jeff Barbacovi became the overal1 winners in their own divisions. Davis was entered in the MiniJunior division one. In the first moto he won it over Edward Gauley and Sean Riley. Lance Johnson took a fourth in the first round but got it on in the final moto as he took the win ahead of Davis and Gauley. Davis ' 1·2 gave him the overal1 win ahead of Johnson, Gauley, andJohn Matthews. Frank Pilato took the overal1 125cc Intermediate win with two firsts so he pretty much put away the rest of the class, It should be interesting to see just how he can do against the Pros whenever the day comes for him to move up. The most exciting moto that he. had was the final one. Mark Al1en was also on a Yamaha and he was neck to neck with Pilato in that moto. Pilato edged him ,out at the end and that was what counted. Overal1 it was ". Pilato, Donnie Luce, Mike Nishita and Sean Gilboy. . . Randy Sciarra is the real terror in the 250cc Intermediate class. He has a hot winning streak going and there is ' nobody fast enough to move him out'· of the way . Sciarra took two first place . wins which gave him the biggest trophy.
