Briggs lost his footpeg in the first
round which was won by Craig
Williams with Chris Cannon second.
Jay Lewis finished way back with a
ratty running bik e but eventually
came ba ck to get a third over-all.
Second round it was Cannon out front ,
then Briggs and coming hard ,
Williams. Williams was really workin g
on him bu t Denny can make it hard to
pass and he d id just that , and as
Williams went for it on the straight
Briggs gave him the choice of going up
the wall or backing off.. .Craig chose
wisely! Last round it was Cannon
making his move on the inside of
Briggs in the fourth tum, a move
Denny naturally didn't like and they
both went dow n in a heap ca using
some anxiou s momems for all. Briggs
didn't rejoin the fray , bu Cannon
managed to and went on to win that
moto and first overall, with Williams
second.
