claimed his fourth win of the sea-
son in the FMF XC3 125 ProAm
class, topping EE/Husqvarna's
Jake Froman and KTM-mounted
Michael Delosa. With the win,
Hayes extended his points lead in
the division by 18 points ahead of
multi-time Hare Scramble National
Champ Jason Raines, who finished
fifth on a Raines Racing Yamaha.
In the WXC Women's Pro divi-
sion, BABS/Fly/Maxxis Yamaha's
Becca Sheets came from way
the pace. But late in the lap, I
got bucked and the rear wheel
just floated above the ground, so
I had no braking power. I went
straight off this cliff, like third or
fourth gear. I was so lucky to
walk away from it. I landed way
down there in the woods and my
bike was in a barbed wire fence.
I was just gassed getting my bike
out of there. That took literally all
my energy right there, so I went
from top three right in the lead to
middle of XC2."
Beta USA's Cody Barnes fin-
ished eighth overall and second
in the XC2 class, while Trail Jest-
ers KTM Racing's Johnny Girroir
turned in an impressive perfor-
mance to finish ninth overall and
