Pro Stock #1 Bob Carpenter and his Team R C. GS1100 Suzuki
convincingly trounced the Pro Stock field of the Indianapolis
NMRA U.S. Motorcycle Nationals. In just his third outing on the new Team
RC. GS1100, Bob set low E.T. of the meet with a 9:03,
then quickly dispatched the rest of his opponents throughout eliminations
with consistent E.T.'s of 9:04 and 9:06. Then with a final pass
of 9 :05/144.69 MPH, soundly defeated factory rider Terry Vance
and his Suzuki GS1100 (9:23/143.66 MPH).
. Two more c lass wins topped off the day for Team RC, Ed Hedrick,
the current RC. Sportsman Gold Cup points leader, rode his KZ750
to the Stock Eliminator win. And Vic Force took the Combo Eliminator title
with his GS1100.
