outhern California-Arizona-
Maico out onto the Ascot battlegrounds and was out to upset the
250cc Pro class. Tamietti went
up against Yamaha support rider
Todd Peterson but was only able to
lead him for a couple of laps
throughout the night. Todd overcame
't he opposition and took home the first
place green in that contest and in the
125cc Pro race as well.
These Pros may make the sportsman
riders look slow but they take some
nasty falls also . In the first 250 Pro
mota the bikes made it around the
start ing bend but then there was a
good spill. T im Lunde was going on
the stretch of jumps. lost control and
I rolled over onto the lower level of the
,track . His bike was spinning like a top
and another oncoming rider almost
smacked into it. Lunde was out from
that point on. Peterson went on to win
that moto ahead of "Storming
Norman" Nilson. Pete Murray and
Tamietti.
In the second moto Tamietti shot
out ahead and it looked like he was
going to take it. He knew that Peterson
was right on his tail so he tried to cut
him off. It continued that way till they
got to the comer by the concessions
stand. Then Peterson dove in low and
execu ted the pass . It was Peterson.
Tarnietti and Murray at the finish .
Overall Peterson took two firsts and
this won him $100 ahead of Tamietti.
Murray, Norman Nilsson and Chuck
Lunde.
Frank Pilato out d id everyone and
took the 125ccJunior Division II win. He
did this by taking two first place wins .
Without any doubt Frank is ready for
the' Intermediate class.

There was nice summer weather for
our moto which consisted of one race
for all classes with two starts. First
were the Masters and Experts. and
then it was Amateurs and Novices .
Master Blackie Lewis had the lead
for the first three laps , after this however , it was Marshall Jennings right to
the very end. This then put Blackie in
second. The second moto was Blackie's
