Mo use McCoy of Yamaha and Mike Healey battled the whole day . McCoy made the Yamaha YZ50 famous and then Yamaha made him famous too . Together they captured the Junior Cycle Stock In term edia te 9-11 race wit h honors. Healey go t even with .t he fast Mou se in the Modified class though. Hea ley too k two firsts and won the big trophy which was just about as big as h e was . Todd Campbell entered several classes but h is most successful run of the day was in the 83cc Modified In termediate ove r 12 race. He went back to his home in Anaheim with a firs t pla ce trophy for his effo rt, Don Sigrist a nd Paul Den is ra n nearly as ' fast in second and thi rd . Like m any of ' these riders Kurt Hen ricksen from El T oro entered sever al d ifferent ra ces. He was at his very best in the 83cc Stock Intermediate over 12 class and he won overall. This gave promoter Ron Henricksen an opportunity to give a trophy to someone in his own fam ily for a change. Kurt took two firsts wh ich gave him the overall ahead of Thor Bjorn estad and Chris Taylor. The full scale motocross racing was really excellent . Troy Denham is quite a 100cc class racer and he proved this by smoking both the 100cc Stock and Modified Novice cla sses. The most well known racer who was on hand today was Rick J ohnson who was a former Mini ace . Now he is one of the very best l25cc Experts in SoCal. Rick took both the Stock and Modified classes. looking especially good in the Modified class where he had a trick water-cooled set up on his Yamaha. Results PEE W EE STK: 1. King Richard lid; 2.
