Yanks vs, Great Britain "The American revolution has arrived for the secon·d tIme... " By John Hipkiss SWINDON, ENGLAND, MAY 24 Team America rode into the record books, beating England in the fifth and final event, 59 points to 49 .points, this final score making the Americans winners of the five-race .series , three wins to England's one with one meeting drawn. The American revolution has arrived for the second time, now establishing the USA as a world force in international speedway, and puts the Americans in a good position to gain some of the world's premier events , such as the World Final. America got off to a flying sta rt in heat one by gaining a 5·1 race win through Bruce Penhall and Bobby Schwanz, who together have been the top pair throughout the series , scoring 10 5·1 maximums, five 4·2s and sharing the points in another nine races . They were quickly followed with heat wins by Scott Autrey and Dennis F Bobby Schwartz 121 and Bruce Penhalliead England's Mike Lee. . Sigalos and by heat four found themselves with a six-poinr lead. . Shawn Moran teamed up with buddy Dennis Sigalos to gain a 5-1 heat win in race three over England's top scorer Dave Jessup and Cris Morton; Moran once again showed impressive form to register six points from his six rides . Bobby Schwanz had mixed fortunes all night, with his machine lacking power he only managed a lowly four points , whilst his partner Bruce Penhall (featuring once again in some exciting duels with Peter Collins) scored 14 points and finished the series as America's top points man with an average of 15 points per test. Autrey and Gresham, who also ride for the home track team , put their track knowledge to good use by weigh. ing in with a useful 20 points between them, Autrey with 15 and Gresham chipping in with the other five. The man of the match must surely go to Dennis Sigalos , who raced to four successive wins before missing the gate in his fifth ride against Mike Lee and John Davies, this heat 15 win for England gave them a glimmer of hope, for now they were just four points down.
