Worth and Field get CMC and NMA Huron wins By Jerry Parsons HU RON , CA , MAY 4 Tim W orth was the center of attention a t CM C Huron today as he won both 250cc Pro motos desp ite a $100 bounty on his head while Kevin Field was among the Mini winners in the NMA National program . The 250cc Pros blasted off the line with Worth (Hon) pulling the lead. Tim Dias (Mai) and Jim Ellis (Suz) both rode hard after Worth , with the look of a cool $100 in their eyes. Eddie Sanders held down fourth spot until lap two when Damon Webb moved by to give chase to the leaders. Soon after the second lap was com pleted, Ellis moved by Dias to go after Worth . By the halfway po int, Ellis and Worth were within fighting d istance and Ch ip Chapman (H us) was mo ving through th e pack. Chapman, who had sta rted midway in th e pack, was now running a healthy fifth position. Placing remained the same un til th e final lap with Chapman moving into fourth . The second moto started with Worth pulling another early lead. Following in Worth's tracks were Ellis and Jim Burges (Suz). Dias , wanting to get into the money, soon overtook Burges and gave chase to Ellis. Worth rode hard but couldn't shake Ellis loose. The two managed to pull away from the pack whi le Chapman was working toward the front . Chapman was now running fifth while Gene Manhire overtook Burges for fourth . Burges soon retired with mechanical problems. Ellis gave Worth a hot run without room for error, but when the checkered flag dropped, Worth was half a bike length ahead and the $100 bounty went untouched. Dias finished third with Manhire and Chapman taking fourth and fifth. In the NMA portion of the program, Kevin Field pulled off a close win in the 80cc Modified Intermediate class over Lee Duncan (Ya m) and Chris Heyman (Yam). The first moto jetted off th e line with Field (Kaw) pulling an early lead. Following Field were Curt Bissel (Kaw) and Eddie Gold (Kaw). By lap two, Duncan had passed Gold and was press ing the leaders hard . Field held his lead firmly , knowing that a win would qualify him for the NMA Minicycle Nationals to be held in Ok lahoma. The places . remained unchanged to the fin ish with Field taking first followed by Bissel and Duca n. The second moto began with Duncan taking an early lead over Field. Heyman a nd Bissell were running a fast third and fourth hoping to move in on the leaders . Duncan , knowing that th e moto had .been cut to three laps, rod e wide open knowing th at a pass was . possible. Bob Sieco (Suz) had moved by Bissell an d now held fou rt h .
