SUPERSTmON MTN. , CA, APR. 27 Leon Livingston capped his fifth straight overall win in the Dirt Riders Fools Gold plus 50, which turned out to be 60 miles divided into three 20-mil e loops . Craig Corda gave Livingston a run - for the gold with Livingston leading to check one in the first loop. Corda got by him in the back section out of the first check. "In the rough stuff I couldn't get by him," said Livingston. "We are pretty evenly matched and it was who got there first." Corda led into home check with Livingston 20 seconds behind. Corda was slow out of the pit and he looked to the side and there was Livingston who had chosen a better line. Both riders were fighting dust and lapping riders, Livingston was building a slight cushion after th e first check when he took a wrong turn trying to miss a rock and took an unscheduled tri p over the bars. "W hen I got up I was still ahead thanks to the rough stuff," said Leon. Up the sand dam Corda moved it up but again Livingston took a better line and topped the dam just ahead of Corda. Corda did the first loop in 20 minutes. Livingston the second in 27 and ' finished the third loop in 24 m inutes. Mike Stearns held third spot all three loops with Dale Stevenson mad ly trying to get by him. Stevenson did a flying "W" only both feet came down on the same side of the bike. "W ha t · I thought wasn 't printable but I let go of the bike before it ate me," said Dale. Bruce Cornell again cruised it in for the win in Senior Expert , Sandra Anthony took home the gold in 125cc Expert class . • Results OVERAll: 1. leon Livingston, Open Ex (Yam); 2. Ctaig Corda.
