Even Brad got more than he asked for though when snow fell Saturday evening and again during the second moto . But the American Kawasaki star had a grin on his face as broad as the 18 Stetson on his head as he stepped up to take the laurels in the second round of the 500cc World Championships. destroying the opposition in both races to move to th e head of the champion ship table. Hakan Ca r lq vis t , 250cc World Champion . is a major threat however; he twice followed Brad across the line despite feeling that he is not riding at his best at the moment , being somewhat unsettled by the different atmosphere at the 500cc GPs. For Honda. the factory who had won the opening GP in both 250 and 500cc clisses just one week before. it was a weekend of disaster. World Champion Graham Noyce was again a non -starter when he was forced to pull off the track after just four laps in Saturday training. He was in great pain from his dislocated shoulder and im mediately set off for Belgium to see Belgian "superdoc ," Dr . Joan Derweduwen. His Belgian teammates , Andre Malherbe and Roger DeCoster. were both involved in a first corner collision which also involved Gerrit Wolsink and had to fight hard to get onto the leaderboard by the end of the race. Malherbe, leading the championship at the beginning of the da y after double wins in Switzerland. never got it to.gether and managed only eighth place which he backed up with a second race fifth while Wolsink recovered for a tenth and a third.
