on Snorteland the- two front runners
soon pulled away from the field and
opened a commanding lead. Berenyi
had gotten off to a bad start but was
now charging through the pack at a
good clip and by lap five had moved
past Harper and into third.
Snorteland couldn't shake Marino
off his tail but he wasn't making any
mistakes and Marino had to settle for
second at the checkers. Berenyi finished
third and Lewis motored across the
line in fourth.
Moto two was again Snorteland's
game as he moved into the lead on the
first lap and never faltered. Marino
forced his way into second place at the
start with Berenyi third and Ammex
rider Gary Jones following in fourth.
The front running foursome stayed
very tight for several laps before Jones
began to fade from the pace. Snorteland wasn't getting any breathing space
a~ Marino and Berenyi kept the action
close. Finally with the moto nearing
the halfway point Snorteland broke
free from the leading trio and pulled a
few bikelengths ahead of Marino and
Berenyi. Marino waited a couple of
laps and then charged back at the
lead, narrowing it at the white flag but
falling short at the checkers. Berenyi
finished in third and Jones fourth.
That's the way the overall positions
ended also.
