Thr~ Ex~rt classes w~nt aftfi a big purse put up by GNC for th~ rac~, and in the 125s, it was J~rry Surber, Jr. taking command aft~r MicIr.ey Pizzitola ~ld t~ ~arly l~ad, but couldn't match Surb~r's s~. Pizzitola ~ttl~ in for !Kond, with Ben Theriot passing his way up from a bad start to grab third. Clay H~nsh~ll and Gl~n Johnson finish~4-5. 16 Pedro P~raln and Carlo Musso batt1~d it out for the 250cc Ex~rt win, but Musso could not ~ around pfiales and had til tak~ second place mon~. Ricky Glaser d~f~at~ J~ Burk~ and Ricky Madol~ for the third spot. Darryl H~isl~r came over from Alabama to win the Open Ex~rt class, b~ating Clar~nc~ Fortney of Oklahoma, Louisiana's Billy Prevost. Texas' Joey Balcom and Houston's Tommy Hudson. Billy Bristwe took hom~ th~ win in th~ IOOcc fmal ah~ad of Bryan Taylor, Jaim~ Killion, Billy BUfi and Randy Hall~n. and in a tough Ov~r 50 main ev~nt, Darius Graml~ of Harlington, TX cam~ out on top, riding a Kawasaki KDX 175 Uni·Trak. Billy Click, winn~r of t~ class for th~ past two ~an in a row, was right on GramI~ for the first f~ laps, but steadily crash~ hitnsdf out of a possibility of a third victory. Jimmy R~n~ pick~d up second as Jamn Cantw~lI l~d Roy McCalvin and Billy ~nton across th~ chKk~n to mak~ up ~ top five. In th~ 125cc Novice class, Billy Bak~r p~ his way up to t~ front ~arly in th~ rac~ and held on to the position to d~f~at Donni~ McMillon and Paul York. Floyd Robbins and Danny Meloy mad~ up th~ top fiv~. Th~ final main ~v~nt of th~ night was th~ 250cc Novicn, where Scott R~mol~ inh~rit~d th~ win after the ~arly lead~r had his Honda 's r~ar ~nd break apart two laps from th~ finish. Everyon~ moved up a notch at the fin· ish, and Gl~n Whitten, Todd Lukavsky, Jim Powe and Moe Van Kirk look home beautiful GNC trophies. Larry Huffman came down for the !Above) VICtOry in the 250cc Expen ranks went to Pedro Perales.
