Bob Blose (C-A), and Roger Jones
(Yam) were trying to recover from
poor starts. By the fifth lap Crawford
had blitzed his way up to third, passing
Conradson in the S turns. Jones had
moved into fifth, but. Blose was still
struggling back in ninth. Fifteen minutes into the race Blose got by
Robinson for eighth and on the next
lap he took over sixth. Conradson went
down at the bottom of tower hill drop·
ping him ~ack to fifth as Jones took
over fourth.
Shortened to seven laps the second
moLO was relatively uneventful as Drey
Dircks took the lead off the line and
held it wire to wire. Crawford held
firm in second. The only change was
for third when Jones passed Blose on
lapsix.
