If the first two rounds in the 1980 AMA National

At the Coyote Derby season opener, it was Team
Kawasaki's Ted "The Tiger" Leimbach scoring a big
13-point victory in the 250cc A Class, edging out
fellow-teammate Mark Hyde.
Jack Penton kept the Kawasaki colors flying high
with a second place win in the 200cc A Class. Behind
him were the Green Machines of Brad Zimmennan
and Jeft Hill in third and fourth positions.

The weather might have been freezing at this year's
Stone Mountain National, but the action was hot.
Like when Green Meanie Kevin Lavoie gritted his
chattering teeth and gunned his Kawasaki to a win
in the Open A Class. And when Jack Penton pulled
out all the stops to bring his Kawasaki home at the
head of the 200cc A Class.
With the new National Championship enduro
schedule reduced to just 12 events, the competition
is tougher than ever. But if you're riding a Kawasaki,
you're in for some good times.
