Charles Morey, Tom Mueller and Whytal 1979 had its ups and downs for Chuck Sun. Following his excellent showing in the Nationals in '78, Hwqvama decided to send Chuck to Europe to campaign the 'OOcc Grand Prix. Sun promptly broke his wrist in a training fall and the year started on a sour note. His wrist slowly recovering, Sun rode a few GPs with less than spectacular results but at the U. S. round of the World Championships at Carlsbad he took third overall and top Amen'can honors. 28 With things staTting to look up, Sun planned to Teturn to EUTope and finish the season with a Tespectable placing bllt a twisted knee and torn cartilage suffeTed in a tennis game put an end to that dTeam a week lateT. Chuck worked back from that injury only to find Husky unenthused about his riding the remaindeT ofthe National series. At this point Honda entered the pictuTe. Hungry fOT new talent _ J __ .. they soon convinced Chuck to sign with them and he made his debut in the Honda COlOTS on boaTd their new waterpumper at Anaheim. Riding an aiTcooled Pro-Link, Sun won the recent SupercToss Tound in Atlanta.
