The MX Open Class is getting to
be very open. Every year, engines grow
another size and the war seems to
be on to see who can build theirs biggest.
Can-Am doesn't play the displacement game. Because displacement doesn't
win motocrosses, performance docs. And performance
we're not short of.
Last year, our 370 didn't
hqYt:' any trouble knocking off their giants. And if the
giants are a little bigger
this season, well, we admit
it, so are we.
We've gone all the way to 399 cc.
But oh what that 399 cc can do!
By increasing the stroke and redesigning
the transfer ports and reed port,
we've not only increased rear wheel
.VJI""
horsepower to 43, but
brought it in lower down
the rev range for fatter
torque output and an
easier-to-ride powerband.
.Engine output isn't the only way
we've found to help you drop
your lap times. Suspension
improvements include new magnesium Marzocchi internals
for betterchatterbump performance, an equalizer
tube that evens out
.$ fork pressures, and
...your choice ofS &W
shocks or remote reservoir
Ohlins at the back end.
And there's a trick new intake
system that uses the frame
backbone as a ram

tube and lets us completely seal the seat for
more rear suspension
without raising seat
height.
The Open Class, like
any other motocross, is won on the
track, not on paper. That's why we built
our new MX-6 as a 400.
When you're on a Can-Am, you don't
need 500 to beat 500.
