VALLEY 9025 Sepulveda Blvd. Sepulveda, CA 91343 (213) 893-7806 (Continuedfrom page 11) Steve Thomas (Hus) who dropped just eight seconds)n the first loop, beating his dad Dick (Hus) who lost two points to win the C-Senior class. Pam Lehman (Hus) won the C-Woman dass while Terri Hermann dropped just two points in taking the B- Woman dass. Team Suzuki's Drew Smith tried out a new PE-400 but admittedly didn't ride too good. John Fero (Yam) got lost on the second loop and picked up another race course for five minutes and put himself out of the running. Team Honda's Ted Worrell had been practicing on his CR-250 two stroke which he will be riding in the Eastern events and had a bit of a problem adjusting to the big 500cc thumper. Kevin Lavoie uncrated a new Kawasaki KDX 400 just prior to the enduro but just couldn't get himself dialed in. The desert seemed to pysche out many of the out·of-state riders but they will probably do well next year with some experience under their belt. All in all it was a very successful start of a much shorter series. The 12race schedule assures a turnout of most of the riders which leads to more intense interest as each event is very important. In previous years, the riders 'could pick and choose the events they wanted to ride. No more. Other factors include the cost of trying to campaign a 26-race schedule compared to the 12-race this year. It should prove very interesting. • Unofficial Results AA: 1. Mike Hennon. 4:128 IVem); 2.
