TEN YEARS AGO The Lightweights M.C., now mown as the most active club of District !ITs scrambles division, hosted an event at Perris Raceway 10 years ago this week, but it was a motocross. The 125cc Amateur/Expert division featured a three way battle between Gary JODes, Gary Bailey and John Ilife. Jones, full-face helmet and stripped AT-I Yamaha and all, took the win. Bailey came back to win the 250cc Amateur/ Expert class, defeating Danny Hockie and Mike But.
