Lay away a little. Turner took a momentary diversion off the track and then passed Blose for second place. Tarantino made his move next, first passing Blose and then Reisinger. Turner returned to the fray, blowing by Blose and Reisinger and latching onto Tarantino's rear tire. Tarantino gassed it past Taylor then Taylor slipped back into the lead just as Turner kicked in the overdrive and blew by both riders and into the lead. Turner held on to finish first ahead of Taylor and Tarantino, with Reisinger finishing fourth. The overall win went to Taylor with second going to Turner and Reisinger claiming the third payoff position. OPEN PRo: 1. Matt Nelson ISuz); 2. Date Lewis IMail; 3. Ron Utaski ISuz). 250 PRO: 1. MX By Terry Whytal ORANGE, CA, NOV. 24 Kawasaki rider Goat Breker charged his bright green Uni· Trak to victory in the 250cc Pro class at this week's SSM MX. Breker had to come from behind in both motos but once in the lead he easily outdistanced his rivals. Breker's main competition came from Yamaha rider David Taylor who held Breker off for several laps in the first moto before finally dropping to second. Taylor finished the day in second overall with a 2-3 score just ahead of Tony Gomez who finished third. Gomez rode his Suzuki to fourth place in the first moto and then blasted his way into the runner-up spot in moto two. Suzuki rider Gary Denton made the race a four way affair as he battled with the leaders in both races before dropping back to finish fourth overall. Riding with his customary poise, Bill Hagen put his Maico out front in the Open Pro class and kept i\ there to end the day with a perfect 1-1 score. Finishing behind Hagen were two other Maico riders, Dale Lewis and Alan Olson, making the race a clean sweep for the German marque. Veteran Professional Ron Turner came to the track today with a very fast I25cc Suzuki and left with the lion's share of the purse after defeating the field of I25cc Pros in both motos_ Turner's victory was not easily gained, however, as the pressure was really applied by Honda ace Chris Heisser who threatened to take the lead away several times but was hampered with a tired and ailing motor. Third place went to Chris Morey who put his Suzuki through the paces with determination and managed to stay within striking distance of the leaders. Once again the Open Intermediate class fell to Maico rider Greg Painter E 0') tO') ~ 0') ~ ~ ~ ..0 S ~ u ~ 0 '. EVERYTHING MUST GO SALE Just like you've always heard about.
