Orginally slated for Sept. 27·28, the Atco, NJ event has been moved back to the traditional date of Oct. 4-5 for 1980, The NHRA World Finals, first scheduled for Oct. 4-5, now is s;et for Oct. 18-19, allowing the competitors two weeks travel time from the New Jersey race. There, Senator Dale Bumpers of Arkanses has introduced an amendment 11534) to Senate Bill 14n. This amendment would put federal bureaucracies on the defensive if taken to COW'! end require them to fully account for their actions and decisions. Under present law, if motorcyclists were to take the BLM to court. the burden of proof would be on the motorcycflStS, The bill has passed . the Senate, but is expected to run into opposition in the House of Representetlves. Write your congressmen today, urging him to support the Bumpers amendment lamendment 534 to SB 14n) and its companion bill when it appears in the House of Representetlves. Two of the three Continental Motosports Club's number one plates have been decided. Tony Wanket (Yam) clinched the 250cc title two weeks ago as did Allen Smith (Hus) in the Open class. The 125cc plate comes down to the final race of the season Nov. 25,' at Carlsbad. Mike Tripes (Suz) leads Rick Johnson (Yam) by 17 points.
