WORLD SPEEDWAYFINAL
QUALIFIER
DeAnza winner Andy Jefferson
holds off Greg Z1nerkopf.
Qrescanin was sixth while Dale was
able to manage a seventh.
In the following moto, Dale came
back to take the win after letting
O!,escanin lead for several laps. Stout
came off the line poorly but he was
soon in third place behind Orescanin
where he stayed the entire race while
the-first moto star, Hollie, diced back
and forth with Northrup and Roeseler
the whole way, finally finishing sixth.
Roeseler wound up with a fourth in
tl!c,)ast moto and his overall ride tied
Stout's, but the final moto is the tie
breaker and so the top spot went to
Stout. Third overall went to Northrup
wlio also had a combined score of
~cm points as did Hollie who took
foprth.
The 250cc Pro race was much more
straight forward with Marty Miller of
Redlands Suzuki leading every lap of
both motos. Jim Tarantino (Suz) was
second in the early laps of moto one,
but he was soon displaced by Eric
MacCracken (Hus). Tarantino then
dropped, out of the race, giving third
'place to Scott Wilkinson (Hon) who
finished there. While Miller was
winning the next moto, Stout, who was
riding both classes back to back,
moved into second and stayed there
ahead of Wilkinson. Stout's first moto
placing of fourth gave him a second
overall ahead of Wilkinson.
The 250cc Novice winner was Cam
Harris who went for a third in round
one behind Dennis Parton (Yam) and
Kenny Clausen (Hon) but then came
back to win the last round. Clausen
took another second while Parton
filled out the number three spot for
third overall.
