With 15 lead changes between the pair - Boody making his on the backstraight and Rush doing his work coming off tum four - the crowd certainly got what they paid for. Rick Hocking, Scott Pearson and Billy Schaeffer were lost in' the excitement, but had 'a good race to finish three·four five. National Hank Scott chose the grandstand side for his pole position on the three row start. Morehead, Graham, Poovey, Jorgensen and Goss were alongside.
