In the second moto Yetto had it made again, but Varney and Chuck Swanson flipped over one another while hauling around a sweeper. This incident totally messed up the scores of the two riders who had finished very well in the first moto. Swanson came out of it with a messed up Suzuki that went home with a damaged side panel and muf£ler. Overall for this 125cc Intermediate division two class it was Randy Yetto, Mike Edson and Troy Manning. Results MINI JR: 1. JllIO<1 Prater (Va,,": 2. Rick Wood ISuzl: 3. Todd T8Yi. (Varni. Denning impressive atOCIR By Tom Corley IRVINE, CA, SEPT. 6 Just the other day it seemed like Mark Denning was only a fast 125cc Intermediate. Then, with· out wasting any time, he was ad· vanced to the 125cc Pro ranks. Tonight he really showed just how much he's progressed as he entered and won the 250cc Pro class in R.A.C.E. motocross competition at .OCIR. !knning not only looked impressive but his performance was £lawless; he led and won each moto. San Clemente Honda rider Tim Slater, who is very consistent in this class, took his Honda out against the competition for two second places and second overall ahead of Orange County Suzuki rider Burt Siler. Marc Crosby has gained a lot of publicity this year because of his fine performances in the Intermediate class and now he's been promoted to the Pro level. Tonight he faced a fast pack of riders and got the kind of competition that he needs. Marc was founh ahead of Bill Chapin (Yam) of DC who races each week in either this class or the 125cc Pro race on a new Honda. • The Oil thori 19791SDT TORCO: 12 Starters12 Finishers 1st OA American-Larry Roeseler/Husqvarna 1st U.S. ManUfacturers Team-HuSQvarna • Larry Roeseler • Dick Burleson • Jack Penton SOOCCCOLDLarry Roeseler/ Husqvarna • COLD-Dick Burleson/Husqvarna COLD-Carl Cranke/ SWM • SILVERA.
