Todd Peterson took his KTM 400 to a victorious joy ride ~ Ascot. Peterson and Robertson ace pilots at Ascot By Tom Corley GARDENA, CA, AUG. ~2 .DG rider Tod<;l Peterson waged war on the 500cc Pro class in CMC motocross racing at Ascot Park. Todd is well known for his radical riding in the 125cc Pro class and has just lately been involved in 250cc Pro class on a new. big stroker Honda. Tonight he was equally competitive in 500cc racing mounted on a new KTM 400. When the gate dropped on the first moto, Peterson's blue jersey stayed out in front of the pack for the en~ire time. Greg Robertson hurried his Maico to second place over DMG rider Greg Draskovich and experienced KTM racer Shane McDonald. Robenson took the lead in moto two as Peterson followed while McDonald and Draskovich nustled from behind. Robe.nson wallted off with the best of the 500cc Pro cash and Peterson colletted second for a rather successful night. Shane McDonald was third on the payoff liSt and Greg Draskovich " took fourth. Shawn Mahn was looking forward to taking home another 250cc Intermediate class win after .a three night winning Itreak. Mahn started off in winning style as he shot out ahead and led the pack stnoothly on his CanAm. Mter Winning,the first moto he had reason to be completely confident about taking the next moto as well. When the second round fired off Mahn found himself to be on ·top of tbe crew once again. All was going just fme when, disastrously, his llike pooped out on the straight just past the crash wall jUmp. Dan DeYoung took advantage of Shawn's bad ~reak and took over first place in the moto and the overall trop~y as well. Glen Senecal finished second and placed third on the trophy list while Daryl Hance who was third in the last round of action captured a second place trophy. Results _e_ MINI JR: 1. Gory YbomI ~I; 2.
