in the moto behind Bob: Dunham, but
that was good enough for third
overall.
Mini Novices saw Richie James roost
both motos for the overall win, while
Victor Figglan went 2-4 to defeat Rick
Valdez's 6-2. Mark Davenpon and
Frank Darr picked up third place
finishes, but couldn't get anything
going the other moto to trophy.

the sixth lap. He then took fint with
Gilbert Leos ending up second over
Dymond.'
Gary Lower shot out ahead in the
second and final moto and led every
lap, Wenner was after him but unable
to come close enough to pass and had
to contend with Roben Espana who
eventually got C.J. and put him into
third.
'When the poinu were totaled
Wenner was the one in line for the fint
place trophy. One thing that is good
about this club is that you get your
trophy on the same night. Lower won
the second place trophy over Espana,
Dymond and Leos.

·Waldrup wallops
CMCAscotMX
By Tom Corley
GARDENA, CA, AUG. 8
It's not too common to see a
team of brothers race motocross
in the same night. There have
been a few cases in past Continental Moto-sports Club history
though. Certainly Luke and Bob
Messer took their fair share of wins
and so did Tim and Chuck Lunde. In
CMC motocross racing at Ascot Park
there is one team of brothers in the
~ar action and this is Gregg and
Ted Waldrup from Hawthorne.
Gregg is a hot 12Scc Pro who staned
racing Minis and worked his way up.
Ted is currendy a 250cc Intermediate
rider and will, like Gregg, be a Pro
soon. Especially if he continues to do
as well as he did this evening. Ted
toppled the 250cc Intermediate
division two class and really caught
everyone's attention.
In the fint moto Duane Mapes was
the leader of the pack while Waldrup
gunned it from behind and ahead of
Team Amma rider Joe Lemke.
Mapes DNF the final round of action
and this was a sad way for him to end
the night. Waldrup found t~
pleasing and motored in ftnt place just
a 'bit in front of Todd Simmons and
Lemke. Because of his fmc 2-1
placing, Waldrup bagged the giant
fint place trophy. Simmons was
second and Lemke was third.
'The last time that we saw the Over
SO class there were a few mishaps. Ed
Ott was shaken up a bit but tonight he
revenged the rest and won the overa11
prize. One thing' that made it easier
for him was the fact that Desen Spider
Charlie Walters was absent. Ott
claimed two fint places and left
behind Joel Bass, Jim Gates and
Winona Richardson.
