JULY 1 San Antonio's Mike Mosel torqued his perfectly tuned Honda into the winners circle in the Open Expen main event and the Pro dash. The happy youngsters mother said afterwards, "some people find the track a bit rough, but we love it." Mosel had a few busy laps with Houston's Yamaha mounted Rusty Gorley but Mosel's combination was way too quick. Oklahoma's Kreg Hunt scratched after viewing the track surface earlier in the day. before the track maintenance man could be rounded up to fine grade the oval before practice. Several other out-oftown riders opted to leave as the gas situation made it critical to have enough "hunting" time before the day wore too far on. The biKge5t battle of the races were I MAIL TO: • the heats and features of the 250cc Expen class. Baytown's Butch Brandson had a battle of handlebars with Ben Tolle's Bultaco and local rider Dan Hamilton, with Brandon claiming the checkered in both the heat and the feature. Louisiana's Tolle fared better in the 125cc class by knocking off Richard Craven's Yamaha and Johnny Nolan's Honda. Races at Rio Bravo are temporarily postponed until problems with race time, the gas situation and a couple of other little thorns are taken care of. • Results MINI MINI: 1. Cher Randall- (Suz); 2.
