WhHf lPi0cllet is 1IHt-treated ~ liIrger, hlgh quaIty dIaln for *': ~ Ross Klatt, aboard his new Premier Yamaha, served notice to Pete Hames that he is going after him. Add northern California ace Mike Garrison, Tommy Walton, and a few other good shoes and you .have the makings of a contest. It was quick in coming with Klatt ~tting the holeshot on the Money TT followed by Warton, Garrison; and Hames. On the second lap Garrison slid out coming out of four and Hames moved to third. Klatt was flying and building a lead that was not going to be easily challenged. Walton had his hands full with Hames who was dosing the pp with each lap and trying to find a Ime that would get him around Walton. Hames would ~t within striking distance only to have his low slung pipe hang 'him up in the turns. At the checkered it was Klatt going away, Walton and Hames. .On the Money half mile it was Hames who made the rules. The oval racing is where. it's at for the "Semi Flash" and it took no more than the start of the race for him to prove it as he exploded into the lead with J5.latt, . Garrison and Mike Redding in hot pursuit. Redding held off Walton for two laps before he lost his line coming out of four and Walton got by. From there on out, although the racing was tight, the positions remained the same and it was Hames, Klatt and Garrison at the checkered. Robert Pfetzing led the 125cc Amateur/Expert TT almost the whole race but it was a dumb mistake that blew it for him and he was the first to admit it. He misread the flags and pulled into the pits on the white flag. When he was informed of what he had done he compounded the error and instead of re-entering the track where he had left it he came through the pits and came back on at the starting line, thus eliminating any chance of catching up. The win went to Don Snider. Pfetzing redeemed himself in the Open Amateur/Expert Half Mile. Bob Graves had the lead for one lap and then Pfetzing took over, paid attention to the flags and collected the win. Charlie Summers, who was the heavy favorite for the win, came to the line only to find his engine oil draining itself all over tlte track. Results n MINI: 1. RogtIf Thompson (Vaml; 2.
