the raffle tickets for them, sold by the
Patrol, added to the money they t09k
in on their bake sale, and the profit
from District-36 beer sales, The
Yamaha Dealers Assn. of northern
California donated a YZ 80, and U.S.
Suzuki Corp. gave a DS 125 for the
raffle.
The money raised for the Patrol by
the District officials will be used to
purchase the supplies they so expertly
and generously use to treat the injured
at many different motorcycle events,
and even bicycle MX. This benefit
race, an annual affair, last year raised
enough money to enable the National
Motorcycle Patrol to purchase a
custom built Pro-Trac trailer to use as
a first aid station.
As an extra added attraction, Billy
Wood. son of Motorcycle Patrol
members Bob and Carole Wood,
found a $20 gold coin dated 1849, on
the recently cut entry road to the
raceway. The coin has been appraised
as having a value of $335. Had it not
been slightly damaged, probably by
the road cutting machinery. - vaLue of
the coin wouLd be well over $1000.
