Greenway had come off the line in the middle of the pack while the other three riders built up a big lead, but it didn't take him long to put himself in the running. The four of them then simply left the rest of the pack far behind with Miller holding a small lead. They remained in tight formation until the very last lap, when Burtt hit Demon's rear wheel and stalled his Suzuki, allowing Greenway to move into third where he finished. In the next round, Greenway was on top right from the start with Miller and Demon in his shadow. Burn came off the line very close to the rear of the pack so this time it was strictly a three way dice for the lead. The race was then narrowed to a two way affair when Miller fell and dropped back to fourth behind Burn, but Greenway still had his hands fuji with Demon .. The two of them bounced off each other for t'he rest of the race, but at the finish, it was Greenway still with the lead. Miller finished a distant third over Juan Benavidez (Yam) and Burtt, who fell on the last lap. Demon came back in the 125cc Pro class where he walked away from the competition with ease.
