By Judy Greenberg

The day of the AME's American

soared well over the 100· mark,
Louie Franco (CRF) holeshot for the

front until U.S. Yamaha rider Erik
Kehoe took over before the end of the
fint lap. George Holland of R&D
Racing put pressure on Kehoe, and
toolr. over when Kehoe took a spill at
the tower. Out in the sand, Kehoe
c10l1Cd in on Holland and reclaimed
the lead which he held to the end.
Holland finished second and Franco
third.
Rudy Dickinson (R&D) was well in
- control
of the
8!1cc
Stock
Intermediates, as he battled fint with
SCOtt Marrison, and then Terry
Hampton, after Marrison spun out
at the tower. With the moto past the
halfway mark, Dickinson went down
in a sand comer and decided not to
finish. Hampton took over to win, as
positions changed behind him, with
fine performances by :rom Stout,
Andy Ellis, David Seekins and Roben
Laughlin.
The Rincon Raiden from Rincon
Kawasaki were well represented,
taking borne their share of the three·
foot fint place trophies. Otis Cecil and
Joseph Rincon took fint and second

Rincon toolr. the bonon for the Stock
and Modified '·11 85cc Junion, with
R&D's Todd Parker in second, and
Rincon teammate Roger Ebling in
third, for Modified.
Fathen and sons ran a 20·minute
team race, with changeover every lap.
Pit action was tops as the better riding
sons saw their chances doomed by
their slower dads. Mothen gave fint
aid during the dads' lap layover. Jaime
and John Pena won the Junior Cycle
class over Rick and Nap Dumo and
Roben and Ron Paugh. Bob and Ron
Caldwell were evenly matched for the
8!1cc class, with the Rodriguezes and
Seekins not far behind. Brand and Sid
